The NAMRIA Day Care Center (NDCC) visited the Manila Ocean Park for an educational field trip on 05 March 2024.

The activity was conducted in line with the 2024 National Women's Month Celebration (NWMC), which carried the theme Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan! under the overarching 2023-2028 theme WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society. The celebration is spearheaded by NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD, CESO I and the NAMRIA Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (NGFPS), led by the NGFPS Chairperson and Deputy Administrator Ofelia T. Castro.

NDCC, which consisted of pupils, teachers, and parents, had the opportunity to experience Manila Ocean Park's interactive exhibits. These exhibits allowed everyone to get up close with various species and enjoy a variety of attractions, including the Oceanarium, Christmas Village, Trails to Antarctica, All Star Bird Show, Sea Lion Show, World of Creepy Crawlies, Super Toy Collection, and Jellies Dancing Sea Fairies.

Through the trip, the NDCC pupils were able to observe and discover different marine species such as seahorses, sea urchins, sharks, stingrays, and fishes; have a unique experience with real-life penguins; watch tricks and stunts of macaws, cockatoos, eagles, and other feathered friends; meet and witness a show of two sea lions from South America; learn more about creepy and crawly creatures, including insects, worms, spiders, bugs, snakes, lizards, and iguanas; and watch a jellies exhibit with multimedia effects and music. They were also able to take photos with these animals and gained knowledge of different environmental advocacies.

The NDCC also headed to Rizal Park, where the pupils were able to visit, eat, and play around, as part of the trip's itinerary.
