NAMRIA participates in DepEd's Brigada Eskwela 2023

NAMRIA, through its Bayanihang Bayan Desk (BBD), handed over back-to-school essentials to four schools during a simple turnover activity held at the lecture hall of the NAMRIA Fort Bonifacio Office, Taguig City on 30 August 2023. The donations were made possible through the support of NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD; NAMRIA Officer in Charge Deputy Administrator Ofelia T. Castro; and Morale and Welfare Committee (MWC) Chairperson, Support Services Branch (SSB) Dir. Concepcion A. Bringas; and Vice Chairperson and concurrent Head of the Sociocultural Subcommittee-MWC, Chief of Staff (COS) Rowena E. Bongalos. The focal persons of the newly-created NAMRIA Youth Group (YG), Ms. Rose Arianne E. Borlaza of the Resource Data Analysis Branch and Ms. Jois Roueli O. Ferrer of the Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB), joined the turnover ceremony. The turnover was in connection with NAMRIA's participation in this year's Brigada Eskwela (BE) activities of the Department of Education (DepEd). This year's beneficiaries were Bagbaguin Elementary School, Caloocan City (BES Caloocan City); Balacat Elementary School, San Jose City, Province of Nueva Ecija (BES San Jose City); and Gat Andres Bonifacio High School (GABHS) and Sen. Renato "Compañero" Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School (SRCCMSTHS) of Taguig City.

Cleaning materials for BES Caloocan City and GABHS were received by Master Teacher Aurelia A. Valdez of BES Caloocan City and BE Coordinator for Senior High School and Teacher Riamond Q. Whiteside of GABHS, respectively. BES Caloocan City School Parents and Teachers Association President, Ms. Elizabeth O. Pine, and Teachers Aida C. Tarre and Robert L. Casi; and GABHS BE Coordinator for Junior High School, Teacher Josica M. Gregorio received the donations for their respective schools.
 
Repacked hygiene kits for students of BES San Jose City and SRCCMSTHS were received by Teacher Anna Marie A. Pagtalunan of BES San Jose City and BE Coordinator, Teacher Patrick B. Ribano of SRCCMSTHS. Office supplies (i.e., reams of bond papers and boxes of expanding envelopes) were also given to BES San Jose City.

Menodiado, staff from the Engineering Services Division of NAMRIA SSB, and Mr. Jeffrey M. Aguillon and Mr. Vener Quintin C. Taguba, Jr. of NAMRIA GISMB assisted the BBD during the marketing, preparation, and documentation phases of the activity. All pictures in this article were taken by Mr. Taguba.
