NAMRIA, under the leadership of Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco, PhD and through its Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE), paid tribute to its eight retired employees through a hybrid Salamat, Mabuhay activity. The event was conducted live at the NAMRIA Lecture Hall and online via Zoom on 10 March 2023.

 

The eight retired employees comprised seven from the Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB) and one from the Support Services Branch (SSB). The MGB retirees were Mr. Celedonio DJ. Pili, who served the government for 45 years; Mr. Noel A. Besana, 45 years; Mr. Freddie C. Lepiten, 43 years; Mr. Rolando L. Mabalot, 41 years; Engr. Trinidad R. Garbo, 39 years; Ms. Amelia T. Dela Cruz, 37 years; and Mr. Danilo P. Cruz, 24 years. The retiree from SSB was Mr. Noel R. Vega, who served the government for 30 years.

 

NAMRIA PRAISE Chairperson and Hydrography Branch (HB) Officer in Charge (OIC)-Director Antonio G Valenzuela, Jr gave the welcome remarks. He thanked the retired employees for the commitment they showed throughout their years of service. He also expressed hope that in some way, the agency was able to help them attain a happy and comfortable retirement life.

 

 

In his inspirational message, Administrator Tiangco congratulated the retirees for reaching this very special milestone. He reminded them that retirement gives them the opportunity to engage in activities with more personal meaning. He also said that those who are still in the agency will hold on and get inspiration from them to keep going.

 

 

As one of the highlights of the event, family members, friends, and colleagues of the retired employees extended their congratulations and appreciation through live and recorded video messages. Among the NAMRIA officials who gave recollections and messages were Deputy Administrator Efren P. Carandang, SSB Director Concepcion A. Bringas, MGB Director Ruel DM. Belen, and MGB Assistant Director Brian A. Dela Cruz. Retirees Engineer Garbo and Mr. Vega, who were present at the Lecture Hall, and Mr. Cruz, who virtually attended via Zoom, also gave their thanks. The activity concluded with the awarding of tokens including certificates of appreciation, framed caricature photos, cakes, and the retirees' 201 files.

 

 

 

The Salamat, Mabuhay activity was facilitated by Ms. Ma. Jesabel M. Ramos, Ms. Mary Joy E. Sioting, and Mr. Ralph E. Hallig of the Human Resource Management Section, Administrative Division-SSB; and technically facilitated by Mr. Erwin D.
