Seminar-Workshop on Technical Capability Enhancement of NAMRIA Frontline Service Providers held

The NAMRIA frontline service providers from Information and Client Service Units (ICSUs) and Map Sales Offices (MSOs) all over the country participated in the Seminar-Workshop on the Technical Capability Enhancement of NAMRIA Frontline Service Providers at the Hotel H2O, Luneta, Manila last 17 – 20 July 2017. The training was in line with the Geospatial Information Services Division (GISD)-Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB) initiatives on continuing human resource development. It was also based on the recommendation from the Seminar-Workshop on the Quality Client Service conducted last December 2016 by the Human Resource Development Section-Administrative Division (AD)-Support Services Branch (SSB).

GISMB Director John Santiago F. Fabic welcomed the participants on the first day of the seminar-workshop. He delivered a message on the NAMRIA Quality Management System and the migration of NAMRIA from ISO 9001:2008 ISO Certification to 9001:2015 ISO Certification.

Deputy Administrator Efren P. Carandang graced the event and discussed the importance of frontline service providers as the face of NAMRIA. The series of lectures was conducted by the branches after the introductory activities and this consisted of the following: from the GISMB,   Overview of ICSU and MSO by Mr. Alvin F. Laurio  and Updates on the Philippine Geoportal Project by Mr. Melvin O. Perez of GISMB;   Resource Data Analysis Branch (RDAB) Products and Services by Ms. Josephine O. Ferrer and Ms. Pinky T. De Chavez;  Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB) Products and Services, Map Reading and Map Appreciation by  Engr. Mary Jane R. Montemor; and  Hydrography Branch (HB) Products and Services, Chart Reading, and Chart Appreciation by Engr. Henry A. Coldes.

The topics for the second day were: Citizen Charter/Service Excellence through Continuous Systems Innovation Monitoring and Evaluation (SECSIME) by Ms. Xenia R. Andres of SSB; Sales Recording and Reporting/Stock Inventory System (SRR/SIS) – NAMRIA Products and Services Information System (NPASIS) by Mr. Donald M. Gutierrez of GISMB; Commission on Audit (COA) forms and other requirements by Ms. Nikki Aimee B. Escandor and Ms. Sheila A. Gatacelo from the SSB, and Ms. Donna Mae S. Namoc from the COA; and  Map Sales Analysis Report, Status of MSO, and issues and concerns by  Mr. Laurio.

Towards the end of the  seminar-workshop, HB Assistant Director, Captain Amante R. Caluya, Jr. gave a special message  where he mentioned that the seminar-workshop is important to how NAMRIA frontline service providers assist clients. GISD Division Chief Maria Romina dR. Pe Benito delivered the closing remarks. Certificates of appreciation and participation were awarded during the closing ceremonies.
