NAMRIA caps a successful 2018 with a year-end assembly

Hosted by the Mapping and Geodesy Branch (MGB), NAMRIA celebrated the year-end at the agency’s Covered Court, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on 20 December 2018, with the theme Pasko Na! Pasko Na!... Ang Buong Mundo Ay Magsaya! The event started with a Eucharistic Celebration officiated by Rev. Fr. Harley Florez of St. Michael Parish Church.

In his opening remarks, MGB Dir. Ruel DM. Belen welcomed the guests and employees and briefly enumerated the parts of the program.  In his message, NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco thanked all NAMRIA employees for the agency’s accomplishments in Fiscal Year 2018 that enabled the agency to fulfill its mandate in serving the nation.  He highlighted the following major achievements of NAMRIA for 2018: the agency’s transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015; its accreditation by Investors in People for international standards on good people management practices; and the conferment by the Civil Service Commission of the bonze award under its Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management.

DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, the Guest of Honor, congratulated the agency for its hard work especially as part of the task force in the rehabilitation of the Island of Boracay.  He also talked about the restoration of the water quality of Manila Bay as the DENR’s next challenge and asked the agency’s support in the endeavor.

The celebration featured raffle draws and entertainment numbers from invited performers, the NAMRIA Daycare, and the NAMRIA Chorale.  Ms. Hennesy R. Marohom, Ms. Charisma Victoria D. Cayapan, and Mr. Roger G. De Luna of MGB co-hosted the event with the guest emcees.
