A topographic map is a graphic representation of the earth's natural and man-made features. The shape and elevation of the terrain are portrayed in them.
This map is a fundamental tool for planning, researches and studies. This is used as base map and forms an essential part in the preparation of other kinds of thematic maps.
The Philippine topographic maps at 1:250,000 scale were produced in 1954 with information from the Philippine Coast and Geodetic Survey, the Army Map Service, Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, the Bureau of Public Highways, and other agencies. Elevation is expressed in 100-m contour line interval.
