Please follow the instructions below and shortly you would be able to determine where the northern direction is.

What you will need in this activity is maybe an umbrella or a hat because you will do this outdoors.

Step 1.

Go out of your house and choose a location where you can see the sun. The best time is in the morning or afternoon.

Please don't stare at the sun. It can blind you:)

Step 2.

Face the direction of the sun. Take note that if it’s in the morning, you are facing east. When it is in the afternoon, you are facing west.

Step 3.

Where is the North?

If you are facing east, north is to your left. If you are facing west, north is to your right
