This year’s challenge is organized by Singapore Land Authority, and supported by Ministry of Development (Survey Department) of Brunei Darussalam, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (Survey Department) of Myanmar, NAMRIA of the Philippines, and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (Department of Survey, Mapping, and Geographic Information) of Viet Nam.  AGC 2021 targets geospatial projects supporting the SDGs of students from Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in the ASEAN Region.

Submissions from Philippine IHLs were handled by NAMRIA.  There were 15 participating team projects from various IHLs in the country.  The entries were initially judged by NAMRIA’s panel of selected geospatial managers and experts led by Geospatial Information System Management Branch (GISMB) Assistant Director Benjamin P. Balais.  The projects were assessed based on the following criteria: Challenge Statement and Relevance (20%), Application of Geospatial Technology (40%), Creativity and Innovation (20%), and Sustainability and Applicability (20%).
