NAMRIA is 4peat champion in DENR Inter-Agency Sportsfest

NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco together with Deputy Administrator Jose C. Cabanayan, Jr., Chief of Staff (COS) Ms. Rowena E. Bongalos, and other NAMRIA officials and employees attended the awarding ceremony of the DENR Inter-Agency Sportsfest 2019 held at the DENR Central Office in Diliman, Quezon City on 23 August 2019.  The agency won its fourth consecutive overall championship in the DENR event.

The initial part of the program was held in the morning at the Biodiversity Management Bureau compound with two (2) special events, namely, a Marathon Relay and a Cycling Event.  The second part was the awarding ceremony held in the afternoon.  The opening remarks were delivered by K4 DENR President Mr. Jose Isidro Michael T. Padin of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau.  Mr. Padin welcomed the regional directors who attended the awards ceremony, and thanked the sports coordinators and all DENR employees who participated in the events.
 
DENR Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Rodolfo C. Garcia served as the Chairperson for the 2019 DENR Inter-Agency Sportsfest with DENR Assistant Secretary for Human Resource Development and Legislative Affairs Joan A. Lagunda, D.M. as the Vice-Chairperson.
 
NAMRIA placed first in seven events in the 2019 DENR Inter-Agency Sportsfest, namely: Men’s and Women’s Volleyball, Bowling, Dart, Women’s Table Tennis, Marathon Relay, and Cycling Event. 
 
In the Individual Awards category, the champion for the Women’s Table Tennis Singles Category was Ms. Mary-Ann A. Magsumbol; first runner-up for Men’s Table Tennis Singles Category was Mr. Antonio J. Delgado III; and Male Highest Average Scorer in Bowling was Mr. Rogelio D. Dais Jr.  Likewise, NAMRIA volleyball players received medals for placing in the “mythical six.”  Those in the women’s category were the following: Best Setter, Ms. Charon L. Luyun; Best Digger, Ms. Vanessa C. Bool; and Best Spiker and MVP, Ms. Madel G. Gavarra.  Those in the men’s category were the following: Best Server, Mr. Virgilio C. Prado; Best Spiker, Mr. Hersal M. Dajac; and Best Setter and MVP, Mr. Lindon M. De Leon.  The event was emceed by Ms. Zenaida A. Leaño of NAMRIA and Mr. Marlon Ray Santos of DENR.
