Some of the questions could have been discussed or answered on our message board, but we choose to archive them here so that they can easily be accessed or read.

FAQ 01. Why can't I view the maps listed in the product catalog/search?

The products displayed after you have submitted your search at our product catalog are for sale and cannot be viewed for downloading or copying. However, we have provided a download area located at our Data Center on selected products only, particularly the topographic map 1:250,000 scale.

If you want to avail yourself of any of the products (maps) listed at the product catalog, you can contact and buy them from any of our map sales offices located nationwide.

	FAQ 02. How can I avail myself of the NAMRIA maps?

	You can contact our map sales offices nearest your area and inquire the availability of the map you want to buy. Our maps sales offices may have different stocks of maps and sometimes some maps are out of stock so your are highly advised to contact them first.

FAQ 03. Can you deliver maps through mail?

Yes. As soon as we received the money from you to cover shipping cost of the maps you ordered, we will send you the maps through any of these major shipping companies: DHL, UPS or FEDEX.

FAQ 04. Are the posted job vacancies really exist?

Yes. Our job postings are updated online quarterly. If you have sent your resume to our Personnel Division through email or snail mail and have not received a call back, then, most likely, your resume was not received.

The most appropriate thing to do is to follow it up by either calling the Personnel Division at (63-2) 810-5462, or better yet, visit our office personally and give your resume to the Personnel Division or to the Department/Division where you wish to apply. In doing so, you will be personally entertained and might get an interview.

FAQ 05. Do you produce road maps?

NAMRIA produces topographic maps that are the base maps for other thematic maps like land cover, land condition, land classification, cadastral, etc. In addition, we have digital data of road maps available. This data comes from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

FAQ 06. Do you welcome groups to tour your facilities?

Yes. We have been entertaining group tours to our facilities as part of providing and disseminating information what our agency is doing for our government. We have various state-of-the-art mapping, surveying and information resource facilities and technology to show visitors of the capabilities of our agency. Likewise, we have developed different kinds of GIS applications for demonstration to interested parties like local government officials, students, researchers and other IT professionals.

	FAQ 07. Can I edit and use the NAMRIA maps for business?

	Article III of NAMRIA Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) states that "the second party shall use the digital data acquired from NAMRIA only for its own authorized purpose and not for commercial purpose. If digital is sold to other parties, the Second Party shall pay the full cost of the digital data and its royalties". This applies only to digital maps (scanned/vector) purchased from NAMRIA.

	FAQ 08. Why do I get invalid or corrupt zip file when I download documents?

	This site checks the validity and reliability of the files for download. One possible reason why one encounters corrupt or invalid file in downloading is when a download is not actually completed. You should check the size of the file you have downloaded against the actual size of the file in this site. Download the file again if the sizes do not match.
