It’s time to celebrate! NAMRIA formally received on 04 May 2018 the prestigious Investors in People (IiP) laurel for people management. NAMRIA Administrator, Usec. Peter N. Tiangco with other key agency officials; personnel of the Administrative Division and of the Human Resource Section; and a representative from the Organization of NAMRIA Employees received the plaque of accreditation on behalf of the nearly 900-strong human resources of the agency. The awarding ceremony took place during the 10th IiP Philippines Concourse held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premiere in Taguig City.

Investors in People Philippines is part of a global network of organizations with expertise to provide Investors in People consulting and accreditation across the world. Asthe standard for people management, IiP defines what it takes to lead, support, and manage people well for sustainable results. The IiP Standard features three performance pillars, nine indicators (three for each pillar), and a four-stage performance model. Assessment is made using the four-stage performance model (Developed, Established, Advanced, and High Performing) across all the indicators. The accreditation levels are: Accredited, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. In order to meet the minimum accredited level. The applicants for accreditation are required to meet all nine performance indicators of the developed performance model.
The performance pillars and their indicators are as follows: Leading ― Leading and Inspiring People, Living the Organization’s Values and Behaviors, and Empowering and Involving People; Supporting ― Managing Performance, Recognizing and Rewarding High Performance, and Structuring Work; and Improving ― Building Capability, Delivering Continuous Improvement, and Creating Sustainable Success.

NAMRIA’s IiP-accreditation process started in 2017 and culminated in the Feedback Meeting and Accreditation conducted in January 2018. The conferment of the IIP Accredited level to NAMRIA was certainly a great opening blessing of the agency for the year.
The 10th IiP Philippines Concourse, with the theme “Building Innovation through Risk Taking: Increasing Your Courage Quotient,” is a learning session and awarding ceremony which aimed to share and recognize the best practices of organizations that are accredited and aligned with the IiP Standard. NAMRIA Administrator Tiangco communicated the agency’s experiences on learning from organizational mistakes. NAMRIA’s co-awardees were fellow IiP Accredited awardee Maynilad Water Services Inc. and IiP Silver awardees Pangasinan State University and Republic Cement.

The IiP accreditation of NAMRIA, valid from 2017 to 2020, is at par with the International Organization for Standardization 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements on enhanced leadership and people engagement; the Civil Service Commission Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM); and the NAMRIA Strategic Objectives and Initiatives on Strategic Human Resource, Morale and Welfare, and Organizational Performance Management.
The agency is next aiming to achieve higher IiP accreditation award levels for better people management practices, such as the Best Newcomer in the Investors in People Awards 2018.
