NAMRIA joins R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run VII

NAMRIA Officials and employees joined the Responsive, Accessible, Courteous, and Effective (R.A.C.E.) Public Service Fun Run VII held at the Quirino Grandstand in Roxas Boulevard, Manila on 03 September 2017.  The NAMRIA runners participated in the 3K, 5K, and 10K distance runs.

The event is part of the celebration of the 117th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, which has the theme “Tugon sa Hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng Lingkod Bayani.” The fun run is organized by the Civil Service Commission. It aimed to promote the importance of having a healthy lifestyle and to raise awareness on holistic wellness.

The proceeds of the fun run will go to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayani program, a program that honors public servants who gave their lives while performing their duties, functions, and responsibilities.  The program also provides financial assistance and scholarship opportunities for the family members they left behind.

The event was sponsored by the Government Service Insurance System and Maynilad Water Services, Inc., in partnership with the city governments of Pasay and Manila, National Parks Development Committee, Department of Public Works and Highways, Philippine Sports Commission, Metro Manila Development Authority, and Philippine National Police.  More than 18,000 runners from the government and private sectors, colleges and universities, military, and other non-governmental organizations participated in the event.
